Start your Puglia tour going from Lecce to Otranto, two stunning cities. You will go from a Baroque style atmosphere to a more multicultural setting, where the Romans, the Greeks, and the Turkish established themselves throughout the centuries.
Explore the artistic zone of Grottaglie and then head to Manduria to taste the local Primitivo di Manduria wine.
Spend the day in Ostuni, the so-called white town for its characteristic looks. As you move from one place to the other, you will probably catch the typical large-estate farms known as “masserie”.
Visit Alberobello, the town of “trulli”, and see local rural farms with wine tasting included. Then head to Martina Franca, a medieval town nearby.
It’s time to volare! Visit Polignano a Mare, the birthplace of Domenico Modugno who sang the famous Italian song “Volare”.
Quickly step into Basilicata to visit Matera and its Sassi, a complex of cave dwellings carved into canyons, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
